What a birthday. Itīs MINI. Silverstone, Northamptonshire, England. In 2009 MINI celebrated its 50th birthday. In Silverstone a birthday party was hosted that included racing, event and party in equal measure. MINI UNITED is the bi-yearly, three-day fancier-festival for friends of MINI Classic and its follow-up models. From May 22nd to 24th 2009, more than 30.000 MINI-Fans arrived with their cars from whole Europe to indulge in squeaky tires, extruded accelerators, and unsealed cowlings in the mother country of MINI. xhoch4 was assigned by the event agency George P. Johnson to accompany the party with graffiti, or letīs better say to depaint the party namely with four actions: Highlights: #1: Live-Show Boris Schmelter and Daniel Lange (xhoch4) attracted a few hundred visitors with their three-minute graffiti-show towards the (only sporadically used) open air stage, where a MINI presentation took place afterwards. (performance three times a day). #2: canvas as give-away For the spray action, a pendant was needed, an easily transportable souvenir / merchandising. So - xhoch4 sprayed 1.800 small canvasses with the motif, that decorated huge walls during the festival. #3: murals on the festival site Furthermore, walls at the festival site were dipped into the red-white-blue-black spray damp and painted with the key visual of the festival: union jack + birthday count. #4: bonnet-design At Silverstone-racetrack, the best drivers within the MINI-class lean into curves of 5,140 km. Within the qualifikation just the MINI-factory car was involved in an accident. The bonnet was soon changed and the xhoch4-pit lane re-sprayed the car. Show 1: Show 2:
